Life and Death announces partnership with Apple Music for Expanding Matter: Mix Series

Furthering its expansive Life and Death Universe, the DJ Tennis-led label is honored and thrilled to partner with Apple Music to promote the LAD Expanding Matter: Mix Series. Once a month, Life and Death will release a mix in collaboration with Apple to further develop its sonic horizons and reach new audiences.

In December 2022, Life and Death dropped its debut mix with Italian house/techno producer and collaborator Whitesquare for its new event and mix series concept, Expanding Matter. You can listen to it here.

Next up is a mix from genre-bending underground DJ/dancer Suze Ijó, who spins tracks from a wide-array of genres ranging from Chicago house, Curaçao, disco and breakbeat. Hailing from an energetic harbor city in the Netherlands, her passion for music unfolded at a young age with record collecting and dancing which later manifested into her career as a DJ and radio broadcaster/curator at United Identities and Operator Radio

Life and Death caught up with Suze Ijó following her highly-regarded set at the Life and Death x ADE event back in October 2022 to talk about her highlights from the party, her well-known positive vibes and warm grooves, and her appreciation for her audience.

What was a highlight for you during your set at the Life And Death party at Thuishaven / ADE?

ADE is always a mad week with tons of gigs and lots of networking. When I came to Thuishaven on Friday to play the Life and Death party, I was feeling a little tired since I already played a few gigs in the days and nights before. It was an opening set, so I started with an empty floor but soon people started coming in. They were still a little hungover —probably from the night(s) before— but quickly eased into the music. I always love to see how music can revive the energy of the crowd (and me). Once I finished my set I felt really energized.

What do you aim to convey through your sets?

I play a lot of music with positive messages and warm melodies. I want to create an ambiance where you feel invited to the dancefloor and dance your ass off while leaving your worries behind!

One message you would like to let your fans know for 2023?

I really appreciate the love and support I got over the past years and I want to thank everyone for being there with me on my journey.
